MEET THE BOARD

SHIRLEY GONZALEZ
President
Shirley is so privileged to serve as President of her Uncle and Aunt’s Foundation. They were like parents to her, so this is her honor. She was born and raised in Laredo having graduated from Ursuline Academy. Her first job was as a case worker for the state. As such she learned so much regarding the needs of the citizens of Webb and Zapata counties. She earned her Masters Degree at the University of Texas at Dallas in 1993.
With this knowledge she wants to ensure that the organization utilizes the Foundation’s resources wisely by contributing to those organizations that reach out to people.

ROB GONZALEZ
Vice President-Investments/Administration
Rob is the VP of Investments and Administration for the GLM Foundation. His role is to ensure that the Foundation has processes and structure for the long-term stability and growth. He believes that having the right discipline for routine work allows the board members to spend more time on the Foundation's calling - improving the lives of the people in Zapata County and Laredo. Rob has been on the Foundation board since 2006 as a board Member, then Vice President.
In addition to serving on the Foundation board, he has worked for over 25 years in Human Resources in progressively larger and more complex roles; the companies he has worked for include Cargill, Honeywell, and Merck, KGAA. He holds a Bachelor's degree in Multinational Organizational Studies from St. Mary's University in San Antonio and a Master's degree in International Management from Thunderbird in Phoenix, Arizona.

BOB GONZALEZ
Treasurer
Bob has served on the Foundation’s Board of Directors since its inception in 2001. His position of Treasurer allows him to have intimate knowledge of its operations and of the organizations we contribute to. He was fortunate to work for 36 years in the PepsiCo organization where he learned how Foundations can make a huge impact on the communities they serve.

ANA GONZALEZ
Secretary; Community Relations; Succession
Ana Gonzalez graduated from Texas Christian University with a degree in Radio/Television/Film and went on to have a career in television that has spanned over 20 years. During this time, she has worked in commercial television, sports broadcasting, and local government programming. Ana has won numerous state and national awards for producing, editing and writing, including two Lone Star EMMY's.
She is currently Vice President, Social Impact for the Allen Americans Professional Hockey Team and the Executive Director of the Allen Americans Red Lamp Foundation.
Her experience in television, sports broadcasting, philanthropy, volunteer management and local government allows her to fulfill the ECHL’s “Hockey is For Everyone” movement, allowing her to embrace and help all social causes through the love of sports.

CLAUDIA GONZALEZ
Board Member
Claudia Gonzalez has served as a Board Member on the GLM Foundation since 2014. Her role as a Board Member is to is to head various projects to improve the effectiveness of the board.
Aside from working on the foundation, Claudia has a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from UNAM in Mexico City.
She is very happy to continue Lupe and Lilia’s legacy and is proud that the GLM Foundation partners with other organizations so all can achieve the goal of making Laredo and Zapata better places.

BRENDAN ADAMS
Advisory Board Member
Brendan Adams is an Advisory Board Member. His role is to work with fellow Advisory Board Member, Nadia, as they learn the in’s and out’s of running a foundation from the rest of the board. Additionally, He helps guide the Junior Board as they begin to understand the basics of a nonprofit.
Brendan Adams graduated with honors from Houston State University in 2023, majoring in Mass Communications with a minor in Sports Media. He is also a member of the Sigma Phi Epsilon Fraternity. His favorite part about being on the board is going on site visits and seeing the transformations of organizations that the GLM Organization funds. He also loves meeting people involved in the organizations and learning about their passions!

NADIA GONZALEZ
Advisory Board Member
Nadia Gonzalez is an Advisory Board Member. Her role is to work with fellow Advisory Board Member, Brendan, as they learn the in’s and out’s of running a foundation from the rest of the board. Additionally, She helps guide the Junior Board as they begin to understand the basics of a nonprofit. Nadia also takes on the role of maintaining the foundation website.
Aside from being an Advisory Board Member, Nadia is a junior at the University of San Francisco majoring in Chemistry, interested in going into the food industry. She is also the VP of Philanthropy in the Delta Zeta Sorority, and a second degree Taekwondo Black Belt. Her favorite part about being on the GLM Foundation is getting together and reviewing the grant requests received every year as well as learning about each organization that submits a request!

TREY GONZALEZ
Junior Board Member
Trey is a member of the GLM Foundation’s Junior Board. His role is to learn the basics of a nonprofit foundation. One way he gains real world experience is to recommend to the Board which non-profit organizations should receive special funding from the Junior Board.
Trey attends high school at Sandra Day O’Connor High School in Phoenix, Arizona. He is also involved in the marching and classical bands as well as participating in soccer at State 48 Fútbol Club.
